Happy Friday Beauties!
So if watch YouTube or frequent Sephora, you will know colour-correcting is having a spring awakening. Every high end brand seems to be coming out with colour-correcting concealers- YSL, Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, Pantone+Sephora, the list goes on! I figured I’d review a colour correcting product for those of you who want to try out this trend but don’t want to break the bank.
This HD Concealer is available in 11 shades including a brightening purple concealer and a green concealer for correcting redness. I picked up the yellow as yellow is great for neutralizing purple tones (I’m looking at you under eyes). This concealer cost only $8CAN and I bought it at London Drugs.
-Affordable option for colour correcting
-Easy to apply wand
-Needs to be built up or layered with another product
Okay, some people love this so I was surprised I didn’t as well. It’s not bad but it’s not great. It really needs more pigmentation but it’s also nice for those of you who want a really ‘natural’ concealer. It’s more of a sheer wash of yellow on the skin and it doesn’t actually cover imperfections. The swatch above is a few layers, and as you can see it’s a bit patchy.
I use this under the eyes and then apply my regular concealer over top. I don’t notice a huge difference to be honest, and I don’t think I will repurchase this product. Ce la vie!
