Milk Makeup Cooling Water Stick Honest Review

I feel like I’m seeing Milk Makeup products everywhere lately, but I hadn’t felt the need to try anything until they came out with their Cooling Water stick. Every now and then a product comes along and makes claims that make you go ‘yes! yes! yes!’. That’s exactly what the Milk Makeup Cooling Water stick did and I was instantly intrigued. Instant depuffing? Cooling? Brightening? Sign me up. This product just didn’t deliver at all. Find out why below.

This Cooling Water stick uses caffeine, sea water and aloe to depuff and hydrate the under eye area. It promises to bring a cooling sensation to awaken the eye area and get rid of bags. It’s not a cheap product retailing at $29CAD for 1.2oz or $17CAD for 0.12oz. I opted for the trial size since stick products tend to last a long time, but I didn’t realize just how small it would be! I feel kind of jipped to be honest-it’s 1/10th the amount compared to the original. They say to simply apply this to the under-eye area. You can put it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect, but couldn’t I put any of my products in the fridge….?  Milk is also cruelty-free and eco-conscious.

-Cruelty-free and environment conscious brand

-Easy to apply- just twist tube and swipe under eyes

-Portable and easy to travel with

-Contains no harmful ingredients or alcohol

-I don’t feel cooling at all!

-Doesn’t de-puff or brighten

-Does not absorb well- leaves a sticky texture under my eyes

-Expensive considering it’s mostly aloe, caffeine and glycerine (affordable ingredients)

-Tugs at my under-eye skin as I apply it

-Although I bought the travel size, it’s super tiny and has 1/10th of the product as the full size

I really wanted to like this. I love supporting cruelty-free, natural and niche brands but this didn’t deliver. Milk Makeup markets this as Cooling Water, meaning it’s meant to give you a cooling feeling on application but it just didn’t happen for me. I also think it’s annoying that they advise you can put it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. Well, I could put any of my products in the fridge for a cooling effect and won’t need to spend $17-$29 to figure that out. Cooling primer anyone? Cooling brow pencil? How about cooling blush?

I like how this is formulated with caffeine, but there are plenty of eye creams that are formulated with caffeine that actually work and don’t leave a residue. Like the Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream, for example. Also, the product is kind of thick and pulls my delicate under-eye skin as I apply it. I feel like I’m facilitating wrinkles when I use this! Sorry Milk Makeup, this is no bueno.

It sucks that you finally decided to try a Milk product and it turned out disappointing. I love the review though and would love to try their blur stick that was highly raved about!

The packaging is adorable but that tube is waaaay too small! That sucks that it didn’t work for you, It’s so hard to find a good eye cream/balm. I don’t know why but products that contain caffeine never seem to do anything spectacular for me, I never notice a difference!

Right?? They have a Milk set at Sephora for $59 for four tubes and they are tiiiiny. Like what a ripoff. I could see if it was like YSL or a brand like that, but this is more of a niche brand and the packaging is not luxury or anything. Lol better off drinking coffee! xo

oooo I love a honest review! I am glad I read this because If I would have saw this advertise I would have been so tempted to buy! Not anymore. The fact that you said it tugs at your skin is insane! The skin is so sensitive under your eye you need something so soft and gentle. Yup, you can literally put a mug of coffee in the fridge and then dab it under your eyes haha! I do want to try Milk though, just not this product! Thanks for the review xx

Thanks for reading love!! Yea ugh this product went straight back to Sephora. Literally one of the most useless things I’ve ever tried. Such a waste!! And the tugging thing is a no for me.
