Too Faced La Creme Lipstick Review + Swatches

Hi Loves,

As you know must know by now, I’m obsessed with Too Faced. I love how not only are their products freaking adorable and display-worthy, they work beautifully and are cruelty-free! Sometimes its easy to get enticed by cute packaging only to find the brand tests on animals. It’s an unnecessary, outdated practise and I have always tried to vote with my dollars and buy cruelty-free. Onto the review!

Today I am reviewing three shades of the Too Faced La Creme Colour-Drenched Lipstick in ‘Nude Beach’, ‘Taffy’ and ‘Wham!’. It’s infused with white lotus flower and peptides, and is meant to moisturize your lips. This is probably some of the nicest, most luxurious lipstick packaging I’ve seen. The gold is frosted matte, so scratches aren’t a worry, and its luxuriously heavy- funny how we all seem to equate heavy with high end! These are $26CAN each at Sephora.

-Super comfortable wear

-Natural looking

-Smells nice

-Packaging is stunning

-Somewhat drying 🙁

-Need to reapply frequently between eating/drinking

I have mixed feeling about these. First off, they are so creamy and buttery but they don’t last long at all and after eating a meal you definitely need to reapply. ‘Taffy‘ and ‘Nude Beach‘ are great nudes but the colour is quite sheer. For minimal makeup days, they are a nice natural touch of colour, but for full-glam, I’d prefer to reach for a different, more pigmented product. ‘Wham‘ is a fun berry colour with irridescent shimmer, but the wear time again is a bit of a problem. It’s one thing to need to touch up a nude, but when darker colours look faded it isn’t cute.

I think these are beautiful to display on a vanity, they smell lovely and feel buttery on the lips, but they did make my lips actually feel a bit dry which was odd and not expected for such a creamy product. I’m not blown away especially considering the high price. They do have a lot of beautiful shades to chose from and may be a good choice if you want a natural looking nude lipstick in a pretty package.

The packaging is so pretty but we love pigmented lipsticks! These are so expensive to just be sheer. Great review!

Those colors are so pretty! If you’re looking for something pigmented and creamy, definitely check out their melted lipsticks! They’re not at all drying on the lips and they last so long! Lovely post!

Nude Beach looks like my kind of color, but I love matte, full coverage lipsticks! Plus I already have extremely dry lip so I doubt these will work for me..

Thanks for this post! Now I won’t have to waste my money!

I totally agree with your review. I have a few of their darker shades and mostly just let them look pretty on my vanity. For a nude, their not bad but when you have to reapply a bolder color so often it’s more of a pain in the ass than anything.

Yes they are so pretty but I couldn’t deal with always wondering if my dark lipstick was blotching off all the time :s xo
