I’m sure you’ve all heard the phrase, “yes means yes” before. It’s a very common and popular aphorism that I have probably used more times than I can count in my head over the years. The idea is: “yes means yes.” When you say yes to something, it means that you agree to do it. If you ask someone, “Do you want to go out tonight?” and they answer yes, they agree to go out with you.
So, if somebody says yes to something, what does it mean when we say yes to things? Well…if someone says no to something (even if they really should be saying no), it’s not a very good sign is it? If they say no in response to my request for their opinion on an idea or suggestion, or even just a question about an upcoming product launch — that usually means I should stop asking them.
The same can be said of people who make decisions based on whether or not other people answer yes or no. It doesn’t mean we should automatically stop asking questions if other people don’t want us asking them; but it does mean we need to ask ourselves what are the chances of getting a positive response from that person before we ask them for feedback on our ideas (and ideally once we’ve asked them for feedback).

After chatting with nyx over a few weeks, I decided to give their lip product a whirl and did a swatch. I’m posting my swatches here for anyone who is interested in trying out their lip products and wants to know more about the ingredients.
The Nyx Nude Soft Matte Lip Cream is made of hyaluronic acid which is also known as hyaluronic acid (HA) or hyaluronic acid gel (HAG). The HA gel has been in use since ancient times and has been used in cosmetics with great success. Some people even consider it to be an ingredient of beauty, while others see it as a natural ingredient that should be avoided because of its short shelf life (which can last only up to a year before degrading) and lack of safety regulations.
These days, the focus on HA gel is mostly coming from its popularity as a filler in anti-aging creams, but there are growing indications that it may not be so popular for this reason alone. For example, some studies have shown that facial wrinkles are reduced more with HA replacement than without it. But it’s also reasonable to assume that if you have wrinkles on your face, you would want them gone as well — however much better as an anti- wrinkle cream than without anything at all! And so another study showed that oral intake of HA seems to diminish wrinkles caused by sun exposure.
How does Nyx Nude Soft matte Lip Cream work? The Nyx Nude Soft Matte Lip Cream comes in two formulas: the liquid form which dries into powder form and the liquid formula which comes in liquid form only. Some interesting facts associated with the liquid formula:
• AHA + Glycerin = HA + Vitamin B3 or B5 * 100% : This means that you get way more of these ingredients than what you would get if you were using just glycerin alone; both AHA and glycerin can help moisturize skin while vitamin B3 helps repair dry surface skin damage by increasing collagen production.*
• Water + Glycerin = HA + Vitamin C * 100% : This means that you get way more of these ingredients than what you would get if you were using just glycerin alone; both AHA and glycerin can help moisturize skin while vitamin C
4. Nyx Nude Soft Matte Lip Cream Colors
The Nyx Nude Soft Matte Lip Cream collection is phenomenal with a lot of shades that are perfect for the Summer months. The colors are very creamy and feel smooth on the lips, and they look like they’re not even there.
I have been using these lip creams since they came out, and I am happy to report that they have held up to my frequent use of them. I’m not sure if this is because of the long time I’ve had them or if the formula has improved, but I have gotten no flakiness or wetness on my lips after multiple uses (like when you would get lip stains on your lips). This was also a major factor in me getting hooked on Nyx products in the first place.
These are also some of my favorite Nyx products so far (mostly because of how much money I saved from buying it from Amazon), but obviously, as with any Nyx product, you should be careful about what you purchase and how often you use it.
