Cult-favourite hair saviour brand Olaplex has just launched their No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask and I’m here to review it for you. This mask caught my attention after a rather unpleasant run-in with a hotel hair straightener that basically fried my ends. I saw that Olaplex had just released their new hair mask and it was perfect timing for me to try it out. Read my thoughts below.
ABOUT THE MASK
The Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask is $28USD for 100ml of product. This mask is formulated with avocado oil, meadowfoam, rice bran oil, hyaluronic acid, jojoba, rose hip and hemp seed. You can buy it on Revolve here.
The Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask has an easy to use pump with a mess-proof cap. I like that it’s in a pump so you don’t need to dip your nails into a jar. I have long nails and this is always annoying for me! The mask is a creamy texture and it smells sweet and fresh.
Olaplex claims: “Get 2x more shine, 4x more moisture, and 6x more smoothness. The No.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask is a multi-benefit, reparative mask that moisturizes, smooths, and adds body + shine for hair so visibly healthy, you can skip the styling“.
HOW TO USE THE OLAPLEX NO. 8 BOND INTENSE MOISTURE MASK:
Use on clean hair, so shampoo before using and apply to damp hair. You can use this in place of conditioner and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse and blowdry. They also say for enhanced results, you can apply the No. 3 Hair Perfector pre-treatment. I personally enjoy using the No. 3 on my hair and leaving it on for 20-30 minutes, my hair always feels healthier after. Get the famous Olaplex No. 3 here.
Tip: Olaplex advised me for best results with the No. 8 mask, squeeze as much water out of your hair as possible so the mask can fully absorb, and leave it on for at least 10 minutes.
After using this in the shower for 10 minutes as instructed, I dried my hair and didn’t use any other products since I wanted to see the true results. My hair honestly looked super sleek as if I had used a heat straightener on it and it had lovely shine. It felt softer, not as soft as I had hoped, but there was an improvement. Next time I’ll use the no. 3 Hair Perfector, then shampoo and apply the Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask to maximize the results.
Overall, I think the new Bond Intense Moisture Mask is lovely and definitely left my hair smoother and sleeker as they claimed. I’m looking forward to keep using it and the price is honestly not bad for the hair world. Get the Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask here.
