IMATS Vancouver Haul + Recap

Hi beauties!

Last month I had the pleasure of attending IMATS here in Vancouver, BC. For those of you who are new here, IMATS is a makeup artistry trade show that is huge in the USA and growing in Canada. They have big name vendors and exhibitions and you can score great discounts on makeup. The only snag is you have to pay $30-$35 to get a ticket. Most people who go usually spend a few hundred dollars on makeup in order to make the admission fee worth it.

This year, NYX had a booth and were selling their full line of products. I managed to snag two of the Micro Brow Pencil-my new replacement for the ABH Brow Wiz for only $18.

There was also a Nars booth this year which was so exciting! I went there first thing (at 9:20am, just after the doors opened) and already a few products has sold out! Orgasm blush I’m looking at you. Nars offered a 20% discount if you bought two items, so naturally I bought three.

A highlight for many at IMATS is scoring discounted (already ridiculously cheap) Morphe products. I went to the Morphe booth last year and it was so chaotic you had to physically push your way in to get products, then the line to pay was an hour long! This year, they were a lot more organized but the line up was an hour and a half by 10am-yikes! My friend and I decided to skip it.

Other vendors of interest were Velour Lashes, Cozette, Kryolan, Royal and Langnickel, Ben Nye, Makeup Forever, and the Frends booth which featured Beauty Blender, ABH and Lorac! I didn’t shop MUFE or the Frends booth since the lines to pay were literally an hour. Sometimes a discount isn’t worth your time in a line up. The Sephora VIB Rouge Sale is only a few months away anyway, which is super weird to say.

The haulage, above.

I scored two pairs of Velour Silk Lashes for $30! I didn’t want to buy the mink styles as I do not support any sort of mink products ‘cruelty-free’ or not. I also got three pairs of Red Cherry Lashes and my favourite Duo Brush-On Lash Glue for $13.

I didn’t really neeeed any brushes but I figured they are the cheapest for the best quality at IMATS so I had to grab a few. I’ve never tried Royal and Langnickel brushes before so I decided to give them a go as their staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.

I also decided this year I had to buy at least one legendary Hakuhodo brush, so I bought the J5522 crease brush. I wanted to buy more but I had already done some damage at Nars so I had to budget wisely.

Nars goodies- Dual Intensity Blush had been on my list all year and I picked up the Frenzy duo. I also snagged my first EVER creamy radiant concealer, and a Velvet Matte lip pencil in Red Square.

All in all we spent just under two hours there and I spent about $230. Keeping it real with you guys because I always like to know how much people spend too! I highly recommend if you are going to attend IMATS, set a time limit and bring cash! That’ll prevent going over the top and I found it a very effective strategy. I hope you enjoyed my recap and until next time beauties.
