Introduction
We have a new conference, “Imats Vancouver 2023,” to kick off the summer of 2019 which will be hosted in Vancouver. We’re excited about this event and are looking for a strong, focused group of keynote speakers who can share their inspirational stories, inspire attendees, and build excitement among community members, partners and vendors.
The Perfect Location for a Major Photo Event
The imats Vancouver competition has long been seen as the benchmark for professional photography. It has attracted some of the world’s most talented photographers and given them a platform to showcase their work. As in previous years, the competition offers plenty of opportunities to meet other photographers and engage with the community, but this year is especially amazing, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.
The imats images are made possible thanks to your donations and support from our sponsors over the years. We have some fantastic partnerships who will be sharing their images at imats vancouver 2023, including:
• Kodak• Polaroid• Canon• Sony• Nikon•
These partners will also feature in a gallery of images at our website, along with all the other amazing contributors who make up this community! And please continue supporting us through our generous sponsorship packages by visiting www.imatsvancouver.com/sponsors . Thank you so much!
The Perfect Venue to Host the Event
The first installment of this series of posts is a reminder that the most important thing to remember about the imats event is that it is a non-profit organization. While we do have events outside of the imats that are not part of the imats program, there are several important differences between them and the imats program.
The first point is that, while any event at the imats can be a fundraiser, there are no official costs or expenses associated with these events. There simply isn’t enough money to cover them all. This allows us to focus on organizing events that are relevant and useful in terms of providing value, not just collecting money to pay for more stuff.
##
The second difference is that we have no attendance cap—there will always be a space left (or at least not too many). The goal of the event is to bring in as many people as possible, so ideally you should make your schedule flexible enough so you can work around having any number available on day one (e.g., by having an opening event or closing party). Additionally, if you have people interested in attending but they can only attend two days or three days, then you should try to find other ways to accommodate them such as allowing them to take their time off over two days come mid-week (and still get their ticket price refunded).
The third difference is that while we aren’t able to provide all meals at the imats itself (we’re limited by budget), we can provide meals at nearby venues such as restaurants and bars. The same goes for on site catering like coffee/tea/drinks provided during breaks and private parties held in our conference rooms.
##
The fourth difference between upcoming events is with venue access: most venues provide free parking and free shuttle bus service from central locations into our building (i.e., Carnegie Centre Vancouver). Many other venues require an additional charge for parking and shuttle service outside of their own facility; if your venue does not offer those services, then please contact us before signing up for an event so we can make sure you qualify for these benefits—it could save you from missing out on an imats event.

The Perfect Theme for the Event
The imats conference (or imats-conference as it’s more commonly known) is a conference held every August in Vancouver, Canada. It brings together nearly 800 people from startups and businesses to talk about all things imat, including the imat App Store, and other things that have to do with the imat community, such as the imat Marketplace.
In October 2015, it was announced that the next imats will take place on August 16th 2023 at the Vancouver Convention Center in downtown Vancouver. The venue has been chosen because of its central location in downtown Vancouver and its proximity to the new EPFL campus. This is a big event — with over 1000 attendees — which promises to be jam-packed with useful information and insight into what makes an app successful in one of the world’s largest tech cities.
The event will be organized by IMATS Co-founders Professors Peter Belmaker and Michael Hearn, along with IMATS COO David Dameris. The venue will be open for general public registration on April 30th and for early bird registrations for selected sessions on May 31st (this year’s early bird sessions are currently sold out).
The event itself is free for everyone who wishes to attend and should last from Friday until Sunday (although there are special sessions available). Registration will be available at http://imatsvancouver2020.com/registration-2018/ . Early Bird Registration for selected sessions is currently sold out . All remaining Early Bird sessions are still available!
Conclusion
This was the first year the imats Vancouver event took place. There was a lot of hype around it and I had heard a lot of great things about it. It was also the first time I had been to Montreal, so it was a very different experience than what I had previously experienced.
The imats Vancouver 2023 is being held in Vancouver in May 2023. This is another great reason to go there and see what all the fuss is about! Check out the website here for more information: https://imats2020.com/
