I have an exciting comparison review for you today- the new NYX Micro Brow Pencil versus the holy grail Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz! I love love love the Brow Wiz, however I find it runs out every two months and it’s quite expensive to replace at $27CAD. Is the NYX version a dupe? Find out below.
Basically this product is a copy of the Brow Wiz. It’s got a very similar twist-up fine tip, the shade range is very similar and the packaging is identical except for the colouring and font. The only major difference you will notice is the spoolie brush, which is a bit cheaper looking than the Brow Wiz. I purchased this on the NYX Canada website for $12CAD and both pencils are in the shade ‘Taupe‘.
-Applies smoothly, no hard pressing needed
-Lasts all day
-Very fine tip
-The shade is nearly identical as ABH Taupe
-The caps are slightly different sizes, so if you put the wrong cap on one end it will fall off
-The spoolie isn’t as fine-toothed as the Brow Wiz
It’s a dupe y’all! The shades and application are basically identical to each other (the NYX version is slightly warmer) and I don’t notice a major difference at all. I do prefer the ABH spoolie brush but I find the NYX spoolie does the same thing. I would’ve given this product a 5/5 if the spoolie wasn’t as stiff.
I am SO happy I tried this product because although I love the Brow Wiz, I find it really doesn’t last as long as a typical Brow Pencil and it is so expensive to replace every couple of months. I was initially nervous to try the NYX pencil because the Brow Wiz is such a cult favourite, but this product definitely exceeded my expectations. I will for sure be repurchasing!
