Don’t be fooled by the mid-range price tag. Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is one of the most affordable concealers on the market, but it has a few shortcomings which make it not worth $17.

The product itself offers several advantages over its competitors:

• The formula is vegan (no animal testing) and cruelty-free (no baby powder or animal hair extracts).

• The brush head is designed to buff concealer evenly so you can build up coverage as needed.

• It is available in a wide variety of shades to suit your skin tone and skin texture.

But perhaps most importantly, Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer contains a special formulation called “Nu-Matte” that has been created for optimal application without creasing or settling down into fine lines. This lighter formula allows for easy blending with your fingers or a brush, ensuring complete coverage of your entire face. This means you can blend it seamlessly with your foundation and have complete control over where the product sits on your skin — if you are used to applying concealer with a stick or applying it with an eyeshadow shadow, there will be differences in how they work together and when they settle down into fine lines. This is a tough one. I’ve been using concealer for over 30 years and have tried a lot of natural alternatives (including clay and beeswax). I think I’ve come to the conclusion that nothing is truly perfect — but with the right product you can get a pretty good concealer.

I do think that all natural alternatives have their strengths and weaknesses, but I would say that these two are the best natural alternatives for people with placid skin.

The best way to reduce under eye dark circles (especially if you have oily skin) is by applying a layer of powder over your concealer or foundation and lightly dusting it off with an iron or brush while it dries (also helps to avoid creasing or folding of the powder). Even if you haven’t got oily skin, make sure that your makeup doesn’t move around too much when you take your makeup off in the morning, which will also help prevent creasing of your make up during the day. When Ryan got in touch with me and asked if I would write a post on one of my favorite concealers, I was immediately intrigued. He had just finished a book on beauty and was thinking about doing something similar. He asked me to write a post on my “top 5” concealers for teenagers (because who could resist such opportunity?).

Unfortunately, this post is not going to be as short as many of my other posts. I’ve tried to break down the concealer into three categories, each focusing on something different:

If you are looking for an inexpensive basic concealer, try Laura Mercier’s Super Coverage Concealer in Fair which will be a great option for those between ages 16-20. If you are looking for something that has some greater depth to it, check out Laura Mercier’s Perfecting Skin Tinted Creme Concealer which retails for $25-$30 in department stores and $45-$55 online.

I’ve seen a handful of posts on this topic in the last month, but I wanted to address it specifically in light of the recent news that rimmel is discontinuing their concealer formula.

The first thing to note is that this isn’t rimmel’s fault, at least if it is any reason to be upset. The company has been doing a great job of packaging their products and marketing them as innovative, new technologies or novel makeup companies (to lure consumers into buying from them). And they have built an incredible brand around it, which is a very good thing for the industry. It probably comes as no surprise that the brand has taken off since inception; but what does surprise me is that many people seem to not know about their product line prior to launch. From my experience with rimmel’s marketing team, I’m sure there are other factors at play here (like the fact that they are a household name and many people buy products based on what they know of rimmel), but I can only hope that by pointing out these issues and highlighting some steps you can take to avoid them, these issues will be removed from the conversation entirely — and then you can start concentrating on how great your product is for people.

In conclusion: don’t make mistakes like this (like forgetting about your product line). Don’t be afraid to talk about your product — use these issues as a way of educating yourself about what your customers want and need before launch; and learn from others who have already made similar mistakes so you can avoid making them yourself in future.

8. Conclusion

For beauty products, some of the key aspects to remember are:

{1} The product should be both functional and beautiful. The product should look, feel and perform well. A beauty product should be an extension of your body so you want to use it all day long, not just for a few special occasions. The best way to do this is to make the product look (and feel) as good as possible.

{2} The value proposition should be strong enough that it will compel people to buy. You don’t need to convince them that you have any particular advantage over other similar products; you only need to convince them that what you produce is better than anything else in their price range or even better than their best choice.

{3} The marketing effort needed is small and targeted at those who already have a strong opinion about your product and who would in fact be interested in buying it (don’t try to get the entire market). This is an absolute must-do if you want any chance of success when launching a new beauty product.

Finally, note that there are many ways of doing these things. There are no wrong ways or right ways; there are only right and wrong ways depending on which way leads you in the right direction faster!
