MY SEPHORA HOLIDAY SAVINGS SALE RECOMMENDATIONS:
This holiday set lip gloss set from Fenty Beauty features four mini glosses in beautiful shades. The Fenty gloss formula is so rich and smells incredible, not to mention has great lasting power. Give away a few shades as gifts or keep them all to yourself.
Who can resist the lustrous, butter-smooth powder highlight formula from Natasha Denona? Especially in a new shade…It’s giving me major Dior Nude Air Luminizer ‘001’ vibes, but not as offensively pricey.
Ok ok ok ok…I know, Pat McGrath is expensive. Hear me out though, this holiday palette is condensed from the usual massive 10 pan shadows to a whopping 18. The brand has also reduced the price to make it more ‘affordable’ from the usual $170CAD. Considering their holiday eyeshadow quads are still $80, 18 shades for $103 is a way better deal. This palette packs glistening, rich, glorious shades perfect for all your socially-distanced gatherings.
Finally about a year ago, Sephora brought in the acclaimed Jouer Cosmetics. Their blush duos definitely have my attention with one pan being matte and one being a satin finish. ‘Darling’ is a peachy nude duo that I would looove to own.
Every year, Too Faced releases so many holiday-themed palettes and I always love to see what they come out with. After being literally in love with the Hot Buttered Rum Mini Palette in 2019- both quality and shades-wise, I think their 2020 version is a must. This Salted Caramel Mini Eyeshadow Palette combines warm neutrals with glistening metallics in a small travel-size compact. Essential.
If this terracotta nude is anything like last year’s deep clay ‘Gingerbread Man’, sign me up! The Melted Matte liquid lipstick collection from Too Faced is one of my all-time favourite lipstick formulas. These lipsticks simply last forever and through anything. Trust me, I’ve tried a lot of formulas and this is one of the best. ‘Pumpkin Spice’ is limited edition and will smell delicious- what’s not to love?
If there is one time of the year to invest in high-quality hair tools, it’s when you can get them with a significant discount. GHD is world famous for quality styling and this tool can straighten AND curl your hair. Yes, it’s a expensive but why would you ever pay full price if you don’t have to?
This brings me to my next point: Dyson. I had the pleasure of trying this insanely expensive hair dryer in a Milan hotel and was honestly amazed. My hair was dry and tangle-free in 2 minutes flat no joke. This dryer also comes with a warranty and has hot and cool settings. Of course it’s even more expensive than GHD….but if you won’t buy this for yourself, drop the hints for your boyfriend or husband and leave your Sephora discount code info out on the coffee table! Let him know he can use it to clean his car or something.
Another honourable mention is the famous Airwrap Styler from Dyson. At $699CAD, this is not for the faint of heart! However if you are a VIB Rouge, you’ll score a $140 discount. VIBs with save $105. As someone with super fine hair that does not hold a curl from traditional heat tools, this is really intriguing to me. The Airwrap Styler dries hair and styles at the same time, for minimal damange and speed. The reviews indicate there is a definite learning curve but once you get over that, game on.
For a brand as established as Charlotte Tilbury, I always wondered why they never came out with a setting spray. Wonder no more- to CT lovers delight, their long awaited 16-hour setting mist is alcohol-free and supposed to be ultra fine.
K-beauty brand Tower 28 made its way to Sephora this past summer and went IG-viral. Their minimalist yet playful packaging and on-trend jelly formulas combined with clean ingredients made makeup lovers swoon. At $18CAD for their Jelly Lip Gloss, who could resist trying a shade (or three) from this new brand? ‘Oat’, pictured above is the perfect baby pink for my nude gloss obsession.
J’adore. The Glow Face Palette from Dior made its debut with two shades last holiday season and now they have just released three new shades. I’ve got my eye on ‘Pure Gold’ (middle), a gold lovers dream and ‘Copper Gold’ (bottom), which would look divine with a tan. See my video review of this palette here.
This formula isn’t particularly overwhelming and can be built up so if you are averse to the “stripe” of overly metallic formulas, you will love this. The highlighters have the tiniest glitter particles and go on beautifully over the entire face. I love to use my ‘Glitz’ (top) palette as a quick swipe of shimmer in lieu of eyeshadow during the day.
THE INKEY LIST
I thought I would give this new brand its own section. The Inkey List was founded in 2018 and is the newest affordable skincare brand to flock to Sephora. With prices in the $10 range, this line is definitely of interest discount or not. With on-trend products like their Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum (below), Retinol Anti-Aging Serum and their Caffeine Eye Cream (also below), any budget can afford to try this new line.
I’m also particularly interested in their Oat Cleansing Balm. Most drugstore brands still haven’t developed cleansing balms, which means if you want to adopt the double-cleansing method into your skincare regime, it’s going to run you $30+ for most Sephora brands. I actually did a video on double-cleansing- watch that here. Oat is known to be super soothing on dry, sensitive skin, which is definitely what happens to me in the colder months!
I personally have yet to try any of Huda Beauty’s complexion products although I adore her liquid lipsticks and eyeshadows. Her line has good reviews and I do love a full-coverage foundation when summer ends. This stick foundation appeals to me as it’s a (slightly) more affordable alternative to the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick. Also, stick foundations are so much less messy to work with and ideal when you’re in a rush or on the go.
Okay I’m not going to lie, every year when Beauty Blender’s holiday sets come out, my usual reaction is an eye roll. Typically they have a few sponges in an unimaginative box with a measly savings. This year I’m actually shockingly impressed. For $64, you get three regular sized sponges (no funny business there), two cute roze-quartz-looking cleansing solids and a mini silicone cleansing mat.
Considering one Beauty Blender is $28, I definitely think this set is good value for once. The brand also got more creative with the packaging this year and it all looks very cute.
Last but not least is a delectable new moisturizer from Farmacy. As a lover of their Honey Savior All-in-One Skin Repair Salve, I’ve been eagerly waiting for them to release a daily moisturizer with the Honey Savior vibe. My chronic dry spots were greatly remedied by the Honey Savior, although it’s a bit heavy for all over the face. I’m hoping that Farmacy’s newest moisturizer will be perfect for daytime use. It’s moisturizer is formulated with ceramides with restore the skin’s moisture barrier, as well as royal jelly and propolis.
