In just a few days, the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale will take place (November 3-6 for Rouge, then November 10-15 for Rouge and everyone else). It’s strange that this year Sephora grouped VIBs and Beauty Insiders during the same dates. If I were a VIB, I’d be pissed! Items are way more likely to sell out when you have VIB’s and BI’s vying for the same products. While VIB’s aren’t Rouge members, they should still take priority over Beauty Insiders. ANYWAYS rant over, I’ve made a wish list of new/holy grail products and recommendations for those of you who are unsure of what to buy or need some inspo.
MY WISH LIST:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette $55CAD
I never went for the Subculture palette as I didn’t find it very “everyday”, and to be honest neither is the PRISM palette, but f**k that it’s going to be gorgeous for holiday looks!! ‘Throne’ and ‘Osiris’ are bound for smoky-eye sexiness.
Tarte Limited Edition Blush Bazaar Amazonian Clay Blush Palette
Every year Tarte tends to do a holiday blush set and I wasn’t in love with last year’s version. This looks really promising and it’s a $180 value since you get eight blushes and two highlights!
Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation $52
Considering this is already almost entirely sold out I’m not sure if I’ll even be able to order my shade. The reviews already make it seem way better than the Fenty Beauty Foundation (but anything is better than the Fenty Beauty Foundation).
Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation $59
Oh my eff you guys, this foundation is soooo beautiful. It’s on the sheer side but it really gives you the confidence to wear a sheer product and still feel great about your skin. I don’t think I’ve ever used up a foundation so quickly. Definitely going to repurchase.
Tartelette Toasted Palette $60
This is definitely expensive but it’s pretty. I’m on the fence because I feel like I’d use it a lot! And the packaging is glorious.
Sunday Riley Power Couple Total Transformation Kit $110CAD
I recently tried a sample of Good Genes and actually felt it really working on my skin. I read a really interesting article about Sunday Riley and how much integrity the brand has for high quality ingredients, so there’s nothing like 20% off to try good skincare. This kit includes Good Genes and Luna Sleeping Oil.
Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash $20
I love the texture of the Microdelivery Peel they have- you really feel like every bit of your skin is getting renewed. This wash seems like an ‘affordable’ and convenient way to do the same type of exfoliating regularly.
Farsali Rose Gold Elixir $25CAD for mini, $44 for 15ml and $57 for full size (30ml)
This has really positive reviews and it’s a dry oil with a 24K gold infused formula that caught my attention. Is it Instagram famous for an actual reason? Maybe I’ll have to see.
Nars Audacious Lipstick in ‘Anita‘ – limited edition holiday packaging $40CAD
It can’t be the Sephora VIB Rouge sale if you don’t buy at least one luxury lip product. Nars has beautiful gold packaging for the holidays for the shade ‘Anita’ and I just might have to cave.
Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm $44CAD
I tried a sample of this and swore I would buy the full size. This isn’t one of those “primers” that basically just does nothing and you wonder why you’re out $50. No, this is beautiful, moisturizing priming heaven for your face.
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Ultra-Hydrating Body Butter in Vanilla Bean $43CAD
I know, I know, $43 for a body butter is a bit rich but TRUST ME. If you even so slightly like vanilla bean scents, you will fall madly and deeply into a love affair with this product. Ask my boyfriend. Every time I use this I make entirely questionable noises and often shout “OH MY GODD” when I smell it. They unfortunately don’t have a mini size of this scent at the moment, not that it would last you anyway.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir 20th Anniversary Edition $22 for 30ml, $59 for 100ml
If you haven’t tried this spray yet, I can’t even. Just shut up and go buy it. It’s like a $250 spa getaway in one spray. They have gold packaging for the 20th anniversary if you need any more prodding.
This sale is 20% off absolutely everything. Here are some things you should definitely pick up:
FOUNDATION/CONCEALER- most women wear this everyday, why not get a discount on your favourite?
SKINCARE- Sephora now has more skincare brands than ever in store but especially online. Why not stock up on your favourite skincare at a discounted price?
LUXURY BEAUTY- I’m a frugal shopper but I still love to dabble in luxury brands here and there. And by luxury, I mean YSL, Dior, etc. During a sale is obvs the best time to treat yourself.
ONE SPENDY BODY CARE ITEM: There’s nothing like an at-home spa experience, whether with body butter, a mask or oil.
FRAGRANCE- fragrances literally never go on sale ever, unless they suck.
HOLIDAY SETS- Christmas gifts/gift sets for yourself….I’m not here to judge. Holiday sets often have amazing value and are a great way to try bestsellers from a brand. May as well get them on sale!
TIPS FOR SUCCESS:
Have a pre-loaded cart and a list of items you want so you stick to it. Pre-loading your cart will reserve those items for you and then you can click “checkout” minutes after the sale goes live, or risk having them sell out.
Use Ebates every time. Why not save extra on top of the sale if you’re shopping online??
Avoid going into the stores unless you absolutely have to. Seriously. The lines are no joke, its crowded (ew) and you’ll probably grab things you don’t need because ‘it’s on sale’.
Don’t go over the top with trendy makeup items. Remember how great metallic liquid lips were? Me neither. If you’re going to try something trendy don’t get 10 of them.
Remember, 20% off is still 80% on. Make sure you’re super excited about a product before you add it to your cart, or you’ll just have buyers remorse.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it! Do you guys have anything you will for sure be buying during the sale? Let me know.
