NYX Micro Brow Pencil: A Brow Wiz DUPE

Hi loves!

I have an exciting comparison review for you today- the new NYX Micro Brow Pencil versus the holy grail Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz! I love love love the Brow Wiz, however I find it runs out every two months and it’s quite expensive to replace at $27CAD. Is the NYX version a Brow Wiz dupe? Find out below.

Basically yes this product is a Brow Wiz dupe. It’s got a very similar twist-up fine tip, the shade range is very similar and the packaging is identical except for the colouring and font. The only major difference you will notice is the spoolie brush, which is a bit cheaper looking than the Brow Wiz. I purchased this on the NYX Canada website for $12CAD and both pencils are in the shade ‘Taupe‘.

-Applies smoothly, no hard pressing needed

-Lasts all day

-Very fine tip

-The shade is nearly identical as ABH Taupe

-The caps are slightly different sizes, so if you put the wrong cap on one end it will fall off

-The spoolie isn’t as fine-toothed as the Brow Wiz

It’s a brow wiz dupe y’all! The shades and application are basically identical to each other (the NYX version is slightly warmer) and I don’t notice a major difference at all. I do prefer the ABH spoolie brush but I find the NYX spoolie does the same thing. I would’ve given this product a 5/5 if the spoolie wasn’t as stiff.

I am SO happy I tried this product because although I love the Brow Wiz, I find it really doesn’t last as long as a typical Brow Pencil and it is so expensive to replace every couple of months. I was initially nervous to try the NYX pencil because the Brow Wiz is such a cult favourite, but this product definitely exceeded my expectations. I will for sure be repurchasing!

What an awesome review! I saw that Marlena from MakeUp Geek did a similar comparison a few months back and she stated that both these products were most likely produced by the same lab. The only major differences where the packaging and the brush. Its great to see another review comparing them that has the same findings. Yay for NYX! Thanks for the review!

Interesting! If that’s true than I am definitely sticking with this pencil. Why pay over double the price?? Thanks for reading πŸ™‚

Great news! Like you, I LOVE my ABW, but hate shelling out top dollar every 2 months. Awesome article!

I still like the ABH one better, the NYX one is so waxy that I use it up in half the time. Otherwise, I totally agree the similarities are quite crazy! BH Cosmetics sales one that I really like too but they really get you (you get 1/3 of the product).

Thanks for commenting! I haven’t run our of the NYX pencil yet and I’ve been using it for over a month, so for me it’s lasting as long as the Brow Wiz so far. I’m hoping I can make it last all the way through my makeup no buy buuut that might be a stretch.

I must just abuse mine then πŸ™‚ LOL it probably is a stretch but best of luck in your endeavors!

I’ve bought both now too and am going to do a comparison as well. Bandwagon post, maybe, but I think it’s worth a try!
