I’ve become a high maintenance creature. I need multiple face mists, moisturizers, serums, eye creams and face masks. Masking was something I used to only ever do here and there, but I’ve really started to notice results when I do a mask every week. Right now I’m masking 2-3 times per week to address all sorts of concerns, like blemishes, dryness and texture. Morning and evening skincare routines get amped up when you incorporate masks! Below are some products I’m really loving.
Face Masks I’m Loving:
From the top left counterclockwise: the Detox + Brighten Clay Mask and the Exfoliating and Pore Refining Clay Mask from L’oreal. I use the black detox mask when my skin is reaaaally giving me trouble because it will suck the life out of my face and feels really effective. The red pore refining mask is a decent gentle exfoliating clay mask, although maybe a little too gentle but I still appreciate it when I want the benefits of clay.
These masks are an amazing price point- $13US. I’ve tried other clay masks in the $40+ range and while they’re great, I can’t justify spending that much on clay. These L’oreal masks have a complete line with other clays to address different concerns.
Below those is the Herbivore Moonfruit Superfruit Night Treatment. It’s a pricey product but I really enjoy using it. I was so happy to snag this a while back because it just kept selling out!! This overnight mask smells delicious and has an interesting texture- it’s kind of tacky on the skin. It gently exfoliates with papaya, lemon and sugar cane enzymes and is packed with antioxidants from goji berries, prickly pear and raspberry. Hyalauronic acid helps pull moisture to the skin, aloe helps to soothe and clarify, and shea butter adds moisture. See my spotlight review on this in my post ‘Four Niche Beauty Products You Need Right Now‘.
Bottom right is the Teami Detox Mask formulated with matcha, lemongrass, aloe, vitamin E and sweet almond oil. I love that their products are also natural and cruelty-free, just like Herbivore! Matcha is a superfood packed with tons of antioxidants. The Detox Mask leaves my skin feeling refined and fresh, and it’s just strong enough to work without feeling uncomfortable. I love the idea of potent matcha working it’s magic on my skin! Teami has given me a 15% discount code if anyone wants to try it- just enter ‘DOLLED15’ at checkout :).
Second from the top right (in the photo frame) is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. This product has been all over everyone’s social media for a reason. I freaking love this thing! It’s an amazingly potent sleeping mask/intensive lip treatment that actually works. This is packed with berries and hyaluronic acids and the jar is huge! The lip sleeping mask is a bit of a splurge but I’ve had mine for 6 months and it’s not even half used! I used to use the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, but switched to this because it’s more effective. They also have three new flavours of this mask I have my eye on- apple, vanilla and grapefruit. YUM.
Last in the top right is the Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask which clarifies and exfoliates the skin. I really like its gel consistency and it doesn’t burn or irritate my skin. Salicylic acid and papaya clarify the skin while the star while blue tansy is an anti-inflammatory. The mask dries onto the skin but washes off easily and doesn’t make my face feel tight or dry after.
Herbivore is a more expensive natural brand, but they do offer a travel size of this mask which is the one I got. I’m glad I just got the small size too since its lasted me ages. Definitely recommend if you want a clarifying mask that is natural yet effective!
Have you guys tried any of these face masks before??
