Happy Sunday beauties,
The hair care line Verb most famous for the ‘Ghost Oil’ now has Ghost ‘Dry’ Oil. I thought this looked like an interesting product so I decided to test it out. What made Verb Ghost Oil popular is the fact that it absorbs so easily into the hair and doesn’t leave greasy residue. Read on to see how the dry version performed.
Verb is an Austin, TX based company that creates professional quality hair care for an affordable price, with every product being no more than $18CAD (or $16US). With brands like Ouai and Oribe charging a small fortune for their products, this is a breath of fresh air. They have an entire ‘Ghost’ range actually, including shampoo, conditioner, a styling balm and hairspray. Verb is also 100% cruelty free.
VERB GHOST DRY OIL DETAILS:
Like the original Ghost Oil, the Dry Oil is formulated with Moringa seed oil, their main ingredient. The main reason to use the ‘dry oil’ formula is to extend blowouts and when you are styling hair that is dry. When hair is damp, a ‘wet’ oil is better as it will absorb into the follicle more easily. This product promises to help eliminate tangles, absorb quickly and smooth hair. However, the second ingredient in this is ‘denatured alcohol’, which is actually known to cause stripping of moisture. You can get this for $18CAD or $16US from Sephora.
-Chic, minimalistic packaging
-Free of parabens/sulfates
-Does not make my hair appear greasy
-Does not add texture to my hair or feel like I have product in my hair
-The second ingredient is denatured alcohol
-Aerosol sprays are not that great for the environment
I don’t love this product but I don’t hate it. I always love to use dry body oils and wanted to see if this was the same thing for hair. The Ghost Dry Oil doesn’t weigh my hair down or feel like I’m using product in my hair, but I don’t notice any significant benefits of using this.I can see if maybe you only used this product to help preserve a blowouts it could be beneficial, but for everyday use on dry hair it doesn’t do much. Also, you are basically just spraying alcohol on your hair that is infused with some oils.
Although I love the packaging and Verb as a brand, I probably won’t repurchase this. Get the original Ghost Oil here.
