November Favourites 2017

Hi beauties,

I feel like November went by so fast!! How is it December? I feel partly like the grinch sometimes because I cringe every time I hear Christmas music. I’m in denial that it’s December already but I’m sure once my tree is up I’ll like Will Farrell in ‘Elf’. I ended up doing a massive beauty haul (see here) but am still in the midst of trying a lot of things out- bring on the holiday partayyys. Two of the items in my favourites this month I actually got for free with Shoppers Drugmart points. Yay me!

THE FAVES:

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in ‘Babe Alert’

I decided to go for this after seeing so many positive reviews. It lasts ages and I love the applicator. It’s a bit of a bulky shape however – I wish it was more sleek!

YSL Mon Paris Eau de Toilette

Since this came out I dreamed of owning it. It’s such a sexy, feminine scent without being strong or generic and it lasts ages on the skin. I don’t know why, but it’s always hard for me to spend money on perfume because it’s such an investment. What if I start hating it after I’m halfway through? What if I drop it? What if I find out someone annoying wears it? Jk, sort of. Lucky for me I got this free with Shoppers Optimum points- my Canadian readers will know what I’m talking about!

L’oreal Paris x Balmain Lipstick in ‘Dominance’ and ‘Urban Safari’

This was a super exciting collab for me and I ordered this before it was available in Canada from Barneys New York. At $14US a pop they’re more expensive than normal L’oreal lipstick but I really love these colours. Currently I can’t find ‘Urban Safari’ which is such a shame because the packaging is so nice! Don’t fret, I’m planning to do a dedicated review on each shade I bought.

Voluspa Coconut Wax Candle in ‘Crisp Champagne’

You can never go wrong with buying a Voluspa candle, EVER. They last ages and they don’t horribly smoke up your living room when you blow them out like regular candles do. This scent is a great year round ‘pleasant, but not over the top’ background scent.

Clarins Multi-Active Yeux Eye Cream

I was recommended this by the lady working at Shoppers as I wanted to get the Biotherm Aquasource Eye Cream but hated how it’s in a pot. I find pot eye creams just don’t seem sanitary and I love that this has a cooling metal applicator, it’s not greasy but not too thin either.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

I know I’ve already talked about this before but this new special edition gold packaging has me feeling extra chic every time I use it, not to mention it looks beautiful on my vanity!

  • It’s so funny, I’ve never tried any of these products mentioned in your favorite. The Balmain collection is something I find interesting, and I kinda want to buy a shade just because I love the packaging. It’s probable the ónly Balmain item I can afford anyways hahaha 😀

    • If you can get your hands on even one shade from the Balmain collection they’re quite good. Some shades have such a pretty turquoise package! Thanks for reading 🙂

  • Caudalie’s been such a favourite of mine, lovely post!

    • Thanks love! Yes its a great brand! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
