Paris Paris Paris. It’s been a while since we heard from the hotel heiress. She’s come a long way since The Simple Life and has created an empire of fragrance, shoes, accessories and now skincare. When I heard of her ProD.N.A. skincare line launching, I knew I wanted to try it. It’s one thing to make fragrance and makeup, but skincare is a whole other beast. Formulate it wrong? People will have topical reactions. Don’t add enough high-potency ingredients? People will get mad it’s priced too high and doesn’t work.
Now that there are so many options, celebrities can’t seem to get away with slapping their name on just anything, or else the Youtubers, the bloggers, and the general public is going to come for them. Remember Kardashian Beauty’s cosmetics line? Me neither. So, did Paris develop a legit line or what? See what I think of the ProD.N.A. Face & Decolletage Cream below.
What even is the concept of ProD.N.A. besides sounding all science-y? Basically, repairing enzymes can remove ‘flawed’ and aged DNA and replace it with healthy cells. Harnessing the power of marine algae extracts, vitamin C rich kakadu plum, blue lotus flower and hyalauronic acid, the ProD.N.A. Face & Decolletage Cream promises to promote collagen production, support the DNA repair process, and inhibit free radical damage, and support the skin’s moisture barrier.
The ProD.N.A. Face Cream is not cheap however, and will set you back $75US for 50mL or 1.7oz. The line also features a Lift and Firm Eye Cream $78US), Dual Action Cleansing Gel ($29US) and Advanced Recovery Serum ($115). The packaging itself is matte black plastic with rose gold embellishes, and a push-top dispenser for the product.
-Love the push-top dispenser to keep things sanitary and so the Vitamin C doesn’t oxidize.
-Formula is rich yet soaks into skin nicely
-Has not irritated my skin or broke me out
-Product feels very moisturizing
-One pump from the dispenser gives the exact amount I need for face, neck and décolletage
-The ingredients list is packed with good-for-you natural ingredients
-Pricey product, so not everyone will be able to afford it
-Packaging is a little bulky and for the price, it should be glass.
This is actually pretty great, who knew! I’ve never tried a push-top dispenser before but I’m loving how I don’t have to worry about the ingredients inside deteriorating. I also was pleasantly surprised that the ingredients list could rival some of my high-end products, and was clear of harmful filler ingredients like parabens and mineral oil. I always strive for as natural skincare as possible because I’m a firm believer in ‘What you put on your skin, you put in your skin’.
The cream itself feels very rich at first and I was worried it would be too rich for day time use, however it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. I didn’t give it a full 5 stars because the packaging is quite bulky, and for the price I think they really could’ve done a nice glass jar. Overall a great product and I’m looking forward to see what else Paris puts out!
