As promised from my boxing day haul, I’m slowly starting to be ready to review products for you! This liner came in the Urban Decay Perversions kit I ordered. So, I’m an eyeliner snob and a daily cat-eye girl. I prefer using liquid liners over gels because they are quicker. I find gel to be effective but you really need a good brush to use with it, or else you will not get a good shape.
This is a pen-style liquid liner. I’ve never liked pen liners because they always need to be pressed harder to actually work, and I find them to be a headache. I really did try to like this though.
The Good: Ink for Eyes is waterproof, and I had a lot of difficulty fully washing it off with plain soap, so that’s good news if you want a waterproof product. That’s about the only good thing.
The Not So Good: The ink just doesn’t flow unless you press with a certain pressure which is SO annoying, because it defeats the purpose of having a fine tip brush.
-It’s really hard to get a perfect wing since you have to press harder, causing the ink to come out as a thicker line
-You also have to tug on your skin so it is perfectly flat in order to actually draw a wing, because the brush catches on your skin otherwise. I don’t like having to do this because it can lead to wrinkles.
-The colour looks nice at first, but when it dries it just isn’t as intense black as a liquid liner should be, even after going over it several times.
Overall I found this took 5x longer than my regular inkwell liquid liner, and it just didn’t look as good. This isn’t even something I would recommend to beginners because it’s more difficult to use than it needs to be, and the colour doesn’t flow nicely. Sorry Urban Decay, this was not a hit for me.
